Eye on the sky

Recent GPS tracker behaviour of our trackers has shown that immobilization based on detected speed needs the GPS status to be ready to go at any moment. The behaviour we witnessed was that devices which were parked, and had gone to sleep, refused to enable the immobilizer as they had no GPS “fix” (where it has seen, tracked, and assesed the satellite signals to determine its location and speed). Obtaining a GPS fix from a cold start can take a few seconds.

This is not much use when you’re just wanting to walk away from your vehicle and have the assurance that when you hit that immobilizer command on your phone it won’t throw you an error saying that it can’t disable the vehicle right now.

So, we’ve altered the settings on our trackers to make immobilizing your parked vehicle not dependent on a GPS signal. You can now Select “Parking Immobilisation” to disable an already parked vehicle where the ignition has been turned off, and select “Disable Stolen Vehicle” which can disable a stationary vehicle even if the ignition is turned on. It’s the best of both worlds - Reliability and Safety.
