Got questions? Good.
We'd rather you ask now than wonder later. Here are the answers to the things people ask us most.
How the security works
SECO is the ability to remotely and safely disable your vehicle from your phone if it's been stolen. Once you send the command, ImmoTrack waits until the vehicle has come to a complete stop before cutting the engine. No high-speed shutdowns, no risk to occupants or bystanders - the vehicle simply won't restart.
You can monitor the vehicle in real time while this is happening, and share a live location link with law enforcement so they can head straight to it.
Absolutely. ImmoTrack was built with older vehicles in mind - the ones that often have no digital security at all beyond a door lock and a key barrel. We can provide both tracking and remote immobilisation to your vehicle whether it's carburetted or fuel injected, classic or modern.
Yes. ImmoTrack operates as a completely independent immobilisation circuit, so it works alongside any existing CAN-bus immobiliser like an IGLA, Ghost, or similar system. You get GPS tracking, remote control, and an additional layer of security on top of what you've already got. Read more about how ImmoTrack Secure works.
If someone disconnects the tracker, you'll receive an immediate power-cut alert. More importantly, the immobiliser stays engaged and the engine stays off - removing the tracker doesn't bypass the immobilisation. The two systems are designed to work independently.
Nope - it's entirely up to you. You can enable Automatic Immobilisation so your vehicle secures itself every time the ignition is turned off, or you can leave it in standby and only use the immobiliser when you specifically want to - like using SECO after a theft. You're in control.
No. Tap-to-Drive uses an RFID token that communicates directly with the tracker hardware. It works without a mobile signal, without GPS, and without the app. Even in a basement car park with zero reception, a tap of the token activates your vehicle instantly.
Where and how it tracks
ImmoTrack works with any 12V vehicle. That includes cars and utes, motorcycles, caravans and trailers, boats, trucks, heavy equipment, and more. If it has a battery, you can track it.
We use 4G LTE Cat M1 tracking modules, which provide extremely reliable long-range connectivity - significantly better than standard 4G in fringe coverage areas. Put simply, if there's a mobile tower in range, your tracker will stay connected to our service.
Our SIM cards connect across all major Australian carriers for the best possible coverage wherever you are.
The tracker stores all location data onboard - up to 128MB of storage, which is enough for over 12 months of continuous driving data. As soon as it picks up a 4G signal again, it uploads the most recent location first, then backfills the complete history. Within minutes you'll have the full picture.
For immobiliser control while out of signal, you can use the backup toggle switch, or if you have Tap-to-Drive with Automatic Immobilisation enabled, you don't need a signal at all.
No. Our trackers consume less than 10mA while maintaining a 4G connection - that's negligible for any healthy vehicle battery. For stored vehicles, this drops to under 5mA. If you're storing a vehicle for extended periods, we'd still recommend a battery maintainer, as any vehicle battery will discharge over time regardless of the tracker.
Yes. If someone attempts to block the GPS signal near your vehicle, the tracker detects it and raises an alert. Most tracking providers don't even check for this. It's one of those features you hope you'll never need, but you'll be glad it's there if someone targets your vehicle with a jammer.
Getting started
Yes - our ImmoTrack Go is a simple two-wire install that connects to your vehicle's battery. Most people have it done in about 10 minutes. The ImmoTrack MAG is even easier - it has a built-in battery and just sticks magnetically to any metal surface, or you can drop it in the glovebox.
Both come with detailed installation guides. If you'd rather have a professional handle it, any auto electrician can do the job.
The immobilisation harness interfaces directly with your vehicle's electrical system, so it must be installed by one of our accredited installers. We have partners across the Melbourne metro area and are expanding to other regions. Find an installer or reach out to us and we'll help you get sorted.
For the ImmoTrack Go, check out our DIY Installation Guide - it covers everything from unboxing to your first live location ping. For more in-depth technical guides and demonstrations, see our Guides and Examples page. ImmoTrack Secure installation guides are provided directly to our accredited installers.
We also have additional documentation on our wiki at docs.immotrack.online. You can always reach out to us directly for specific installation questions.
Privacy, hosting, and support
All services and data are hosted in Australia, and that's not changing for Australian customers. We comply with all Australian privacy regulations and don't share your information with anyone. It's your vehicle and your data - full stop.
There are plenty of buy-and-forget GPS trackers out there, and they serve a purpose. But we're offering something different - a managed service with a focus on remote vehicle immobilisation, Safe Engine Cut Off, and ongoing Australian-based support. Our platform has been heavily customised for a better user experience, and we guarantee Australian data hosting under local privacy laws.
We're not trying to be the cheapest option. We're trying to be the one you're glad you chose.
ImmoTrack is a service, not just a product. We use Teltonika GPS trackers as our preferred hardware because they're excellent - European-engineered, reliable, and feature-rich. We use simplified product names for marketing, but we're proud of the hardware we work with and we're not going to pretend we made it ourselves. That's what the other mob does.
Absolutely. One of the advantages of a small, hands-on team is that we can actually listen and act on feedback. If you've got an idea for something that would make the platform better, drop us a line. We love a challenge, and some of our best features started as customer suggestions.
