DIY Installation Guide

ImmoTrack Go. You got this.

Two wires, ten minutes, and you're tracking. This guide walks you through everything from unboxing to your first live location ping.

Three steps. Ten minutes.

  1. Install and connect the tracker. Disconnect the battery (negative terminal first). Connect the tracker's red wire to the positive (+) terminal and black wire to the negative (-) terminal. Mount the tracker nearby with the supplied tape, label side up. Tidy cables with cable ties. Reconnect the battery (positive first, then negative).
  2. Activate online using the link in your welcome email.
  3. Download the app, set up a geofence, and take a test drive.

That's the gist. Keep scrolling for the full walkthrough with tips, troubleshooting, and everything in between.

What you'll need

The ImmoTrack Go arrives pre-configured and ready to install. You don't need to be an auto electrician, but a bit of basic comfort with vehicle wiring goes a long way. Here's what to have on hand:

Your ImmoTrack Go tracker

Pre-configured with SIM card installed. No activation needed before wiring.

Basic tools

A spanner or wrench for the battery terminals, possibly a screwdriver, and cable ties.

Multimeter (optional)

Handy for confirming positive and negative battery terminals if they aren't clearly marked, but not strictly required.

Your phone

You'll need it to activate your tracker and verify it's online via the ImmoTrack portal.

01
Choose your mounting location

Before you start connecting anything, decide where the tracker is going to live. The most common and easiest location is on top of the vehicle battery or on a flat surface nearby, using the supplied cable to reach the battery terminals.

For motorbikes, scooters, or other small vehicles, under the seat or in a nearby compartment close to the battery works well. The ImmoTrack Go is just 18mm thin, so it fits in tight spaces.

Tip

Avoid mounting directly on top of large metal surfaces like the engine block or chassis rails - this can degrade GPS signal quality. Mounting on or near the battery (typically plastic-cased) is fine.

Important

Make sure the tracker is oriented with the label side facing the sky (upwards) for best GPS reception.

02
Connect to your vehicle's battery

The ImmoTrack Go has two wires that need connecting: a red wire (positive) and a black wire (negative/ground). That's it - no data wires, no CAN bus, no ignition sense required.

  1. Disconnect your vehicle's battery before making any connections. Disconnect the negative terminal first. This is a safety step - don't skip it.
  2. Connect the red wire to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) battery terminal. Secure both connections under the existing terminal bolts.
  3. Reconnect your vehicle's battery. Reconnect the positive terminal first, then the negative.
Tip

If you're not sure which terminal is positive and which is negative, you can confirm with a multimeter or look for the + and - markings on the battery casing.

If you're confident locating and connecting to a constant power source elsewhere in the vehicle, that works too - just make sure it's not a switched circuit that loses power when the ignition is off. If in doubt, stick with the battery terminals or contact an auto electrician for advice.

03
Secure the tracker in place

With the wiring done, mount the tracker in your chosen location with the label side facing upward for GPS reception.

  1. Use cable ties to tidy the cables and secure the tracker with the supplied double-sided tape to a flat surface on or near the battery.
  2. Make sure nothing is pinched. Route wires away from sharp edges, moving parts, and heat sources.
04
Power up and wait for connection

With the wiring connected and the battery reconnected, the ImmoTrack Go will power on automatically. There's nothing to press or switch on - it boots as soon as it sees 12V.

  1. Give it a couple of minutes. The tracker needs to acquire a GPS fix and connect to the 4G network. This can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes on first boot, depending on your location and signal strength.
  2. Check the LED indicators on the unit (if visible from your mounting location). A steady or blinking LED indicates the unit is powered and attempting to connect. Refer to the quick-start card that came with your tracker for the specific LED patterns.
  3. Move the vehicle outside if you installed it in a garage. GPS needs a view of the sky for the initial fix - once it's locked on, it'll maintain position much more reliably, even briefly indoors.
Tip

Depending on your mounting location, you may not be able to see the LEDs on the tracker - and that's fine. Move on to the activation step and check the portal. If the tracker appears online, everything is working.

05
Activate your tracker online

Your tracker is powered up and connected - now you need to activate it on the ImmoTrack platform so you can see it on the map and start receiving alerts.

  1. Go to the ImmoTrack activation portal by clicking the link sent to you via email with the subject "Activate your ImmoTrack GPS tracker".
  2. Verify your tracker's Unique ID from your order and follow the prompts to complete activation. If you're a new user, your account will be created automatically as part of this process.
  3. Your purchase includes a period of included tracking service - refer to your initial welcome email for details. Shortly before this period expires, you'll receive an email reminder to set up your ongoing subscription.
  4. Verify your tracker is online. Once activated, your tracker should appear on the map within a few minutes. If it doesn't show up, make sure the vehicle is outside with a clear view of the sky, and give it up to 5 minutes to establish its first connection.
06
Set up your alerts and geofences

Your tracker is live - now make it work for you. Take a few minutes to configure the basics so you're getting the notifications that matter.

  1. Download the ImmoTrack GPS app for iOS or Android and sign in with your account.
  2. Set up a geofence around your home, workplace, or wherever your vehicle is usually parked. You'll get an instant notification if the vehicle leaves this zone - even in the middle of the night.
  3. Review your push notifications. Standard notifications are enabled out of the box, including geofence entry/exit, tamper detection, power cut, and tow-away alerts. You can adjust these to suit your preferences from the app settings.
  4. Take a test drive. Go for a short drive around the block and check the app - you should see your route updating in real time. When you get back, check the trip history to confirm everything is recording properly.
You're done

That's it - your ImmoTrack Go is installed, activated, and tracking. You'll now receive real-time location data, alerts, and trip history straight to your phone. If anything doesn't look right, check our troubleshooting tips below or reach out to our team.

Something not working?

Don't panic - most issues are simple to fix.

Tracker isn't appearing on the map

Make sure the vehicle is outside with a clear view of the sky. The first GPS fix can take a few minutes. If it's been more than 10 minutes, check that the power wires are properly connected to the battery terminals.

Tracker shows as offline in the portal

Double-check that the red wire is connected to the positive (+) terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal. Make sure the connections are secure and the battery terminals are tightened.

GPS position is inaccurate or jumping around

This usually means the tracker doesn't have a good view of the sky. Make sure it's mounted with the label side facing upward and isn't buried under heavy metal panels. The first fix after power-up may take a minute or two to settle.
