My Brain Hurts!
Marvel fans will get the meme reference to Charles Xavier and the pain in the Brain. Wait, now I wish I’d used a Cypress Hill meme! Oh well, I’ll save that one for the next time I’m assaulting my synapses.
We’ve got some cool security features on the boil here at ImmoTrack Online. As much as I’d love to post about them in detail already, my associates’ eyes start to twitch because in their view, it means we’ve committed to a delivery date!
Alright Grant, I’ll keep it on the down low….for now.
It’s not your “Dad’s” tracking business
We’ve said it before - anyone can spin up a GPS tracking business. With default and basic features it is, in our view, a “piece of cake”, although we are perhaps somewhat blind to our expertise and experience making things seem easy to us. We feel basic GPS tracking services are a poor experience and part of the “Race to the Bottom” problem with the industry, but it’s definitely a real problem that customers choosing a solution have to face, and they somehow must determine who’s actually providing them the security they really need. Whilst not being an expert!
When you’re actually deeply interested in the security of customer’s vehicles, constantly wondering how and when thieves will start to bypass the basic features of GPS tracking, it gets deep. Really deep.
It’s classified…
It ‘aint easy…
There’s a lot of moving parts to ensuring that the alerts work, without bothering customers with False Positives. Each state of a customer’s vehicle and its GPS status can be different, and must be taken into account:
Is it just parked in a big tin shed and struggling to see signals from satellites?
Is it actively being jammed?
Did it just reboot as part of regular maintenance and now it’s freaking out because it’s inside a big tin shed?
The point is, you can’t just go off the deep end like big geek in The Abyss, with a nuclear warhead strapped to your chest. You need to carefully assess all the data and make an informed decision.
Over the last few days, I’ve had to write, re-write, and re-write again, a lot of code to make this just work, and work well. Sure you can lean on your AI assistants to keep track of all the changes, but when it comes down to it, the human has to make the decisions. And hence, my brain hurts.
But stand by, because very cool stuff is coming soon to keep your car secure against the changing threats from thieves.
And best of all it’s free, for all existing and new customers.
